Product no.: BF330

This is a fabulous, superb quality antique French leather jewel case from the early 1900's. It is a very rich and sumptuous piece and would look at home in the most decadent of boudoirs.

The leather is of the highest quality and is smooth and very tactile. It is in a gorgeous rich shade of burgundy. Inside the case is completely lined with the softest, finest suede imaginable in a slightly lighter shade.

There is a divided tray with two leather tabs for lifting it out. The tray is covered on all four sides and underneath with the same top quality leather. It is also lined with the suede and the bases of the two compartments are padded and buttoned with tiny silk covered buttons.

At the top of the case is a handle for carrying. The hinges are in good order and the case has a lock but the key has long gone. The lid sits nicely on the base without being locked but a key could probably be found.

The box is sturdy and is in good antique condition while still bearing the charming characteristics of many years of use.

This is a superb period French leather box of a quality only matched in recent years by houses such as Cartier.

The box measures 25 cm (9.75 inches) long x 13 cm (5 inches) deep x 10 cm (4 inches) high.

Another superb château chic find from La Broçante Francaise!
