This is a divine and charming antique French plaster bust dating from the early 1900's.

The subject is an extremely pretty girl studying a book. She has thick wavy hair, beautiful eyes, and cupid's bow lips. She is very contemplative of her studies and is resting her head on her hand. Her dress gently slips off her shoulder.

The bust is painted in the sublime shade of green that only the French can create. The base is painted brown and sits on baize pads.

The paint and plaster have distressed in places but this does not detract from this gorgeous period piece.

The bust measures 32 cm (12.5 inches) high x 22 cm (8.5 inches) wide x 2o cm (8 inches) deep.
